Prayer Needs

Moreover, as for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord in ceasing to pray for you. 1 Samuel 12:12a

Prayer is the power behind the Christian walk and also the most neglected. If Christians could discipline themselves to pray 30 minutes a day, it would turn the world upside down. One prayer aid I have is an index card holder with a card for each subject or person. I have 2 categories; daily and a rotating list. The daily cards have needs that I pray daily for: my pastor, kids, wife, people I am trying to witness to, ministries I am involved in, and my prayer partners. Each day I get my daily list and 3 or 4 from my rotating list and pray for them. It's not the only way, but is something that helps me. I believe in praying for specifics. Praying that God would save the world I don't think is effective. Praying that God would prepare the heart of my neighbor, friend or co-worker and then prepare me to share with them is effective. I believe in calling people by name and by need.

Some prayer needs:

Pray for your State's Congressman and Senator by name.

Pray for our President Bill Clinton.
    He needs true repentance.
    He needs self control.
    He needs salvation.
    He needs wisdom and understanding.

Pray for our nation.
    Forgive us for the abortions and not valuing life God has created.
    Forgive our obsession with sexual permissiveness.
    Forgive us for abandoning godly principles.
    Forgive us for becoming complacent.

Pray for my ministries.
    Pray people's hearts would be softened and respond to the gospel.
    Pray for those I encounter with sexual addictions.
    Pray for the Bread of Life ministries.
    Pray for the Prison ministries.

Pray for your local church and pastor.
